I’m feeling a bit under the weather today, blurry eyed and a step behind.   Despite the infirmity, finding comfort has been easy and for that, I am truly thankful.

Today, for the little bits of love and comfort I am thankful.

  1. for a cup of hot steaming tea with honey.
  2. for warm, soft and sweet smelling flannel sheets.
  3. and a huge pot of homemade chicken soup.

For what are you thankful?

  1. Today, I am thankful for:

    1) All the friends who share the little tidbits of their day thru things like Plurk, Twitter and 3 thanks 🙂 Those things may seem mundane to some, but they’re a vivid reminder that we *all* deal with a lot of things in our lives, and help me avoid the “I’m the only one who has to put up with {X} issue”.

    2) Constantly improving online resources that let me learn more and more about the things that are both my job and my hobby; where it’d take tens of thousands of dollars in journal subscriptions, database access time and other fees in the past, a few google clicks and community sites get me the info I need.

    3) Ale 81. Seriously. Real ginger ale just makes almost everything better, so it must have some of the same magic Bacon does.

  2. The last week featured viral misery for the 4YO. As the new week arrives, with sunshine, no fever and the promise of turkey dinner around the corner… I am thankful for:

    1) Modern Medicine, to ease the discomfort, diagnose the bugs, and keep things from getting much, much worse.

    2) The luxury of time, to be there when the little one is sick and miserable. Taking phone meetings from home, while he snoozes on the bed, is a luxury beyond words.

    3) Friends and loves to share the suffering, sympathy and a kind word to sustain me, when the sniffling and misery is most overwhelming.

  3. 1) Comfort … definitely thankful for the deep emotional comfort I feel with my loved ones.
    2) Relief from all the aches and coughs and temperature spikes – phsical discomfort seems a non issue till it actually it hits you so hard and fast from all corners
    3) Spiritual Comfort – all the meditation and slowing down is definitely taking me somewhere and the wonderful part is it doesnt really matter where 🙂
