What truly is logic? Who decides reason? My quest has taken me to the physical, the metaphysical, the delusional, and back. I have made the most important discovery of my career – the most important discovery of my life. It is only in the mysterious equations of love that any logic or reason can be found.

The Winter Olympics.  Valentine’s Day.  Snow on the ground in 49 of the 50 United States.   What better time is there to ease into a love story?

Today I am thankful for selfish indulgences

  1. I had the opportunity to see most of the TED 2010 conference live.  (Don’t miss Natalie Merchant’s performance when it gets posted.)
  2. I have love in my life that I just never really imagined was possible.
  3. And for three inches of beautifully white snow – just enough to make us feel “snowed in” without the cabin fever or power outages.

For what are you thankful?

  1. The clouds hang low in this Monday morning sky and today I am thankful for:

    1) Stolen moments and bartered time for the things and people I enjoy.
    2) The feel of soft, smooth sheets on bed warmed skin in that moment before you are completely awake.
    3) Knowing there are people on this earth with so much grace and strength in their bodies; they are mesmerizing to watch.

  2. Monday morning for me brings the end of a wonderful 5 days of visiting with dear friends who’s presence dragged me out of my routine and make me thankful for:

first… The ability to know true friends who love and accept me for who I am, rather than efforts I bring forth.

second… Music of all kinds and sorts which we listened to and made in the last week and which will play forward.

third… for the sun and blue sky which transcend the cold air. The day is beautiful (and I’m inside!)

  3. Today, I’m thankful that:

    1) I got my ‘weekend project’ done by saturday evening so I didn’t have to miss Valentine’s day with my wife and only had to work a few hours Sunday spread out over the whole day!

    2) We ‘only’ got 9-10″ of snow over here at the house (so far, still snowing; seems like we got more than the places north or south of us, oddly)

    3) No matter how bad the weather is, if I have internet access, I can listen to a neverending stream of good tunes and catch up with friends!
